हनुमान जी की सेवा

The great battle of Lanka raged. Lakshmana, the beloved younger brother of Shree RAM, fell unconscious on the battlefield — struck by the deadly Shakti weapon of Meghnad. The divine physician Sushena declared that only the Sanjeevani herb, found on the Dronagiri mountain in the Himalayas, could save him — and it had to be brought before sunrise.

Shree RAM wept. The distance was thousands of yojanas. No bird, no warrior could reach in time. Then Hanuman ji stepped forward — calm, resolute, his eyes burning with devotion. "Prabhu, your Lakshmana will live. I will return before the sun rises."

After the victory over Lanka, Shree RAM returned to Ayodhya in triumph. The coronation was celebrated with great joy. Mata Sita, overflowing with love and gratitude, removed her precious pearl necklace — a gift from her father King Janaka — and placed it around Hanuman ji's neck as a mark of honour.

Hanuman ji accepted it with folded hands. But then, to everyone's surprise, he began breaking the pearls one by one — biting each pearl and peering inside it carefully, then discarding it.

Mata Sita had been abducted by Ravana and taken to Lanka across the vast ocean. Shree RAM's army of vanaras stood at the shore, staring at the endless water. The ocean stretched beyond sight. No one knew how to cross it.

The great vanara Jambavan looked at Hanuman ji and said, "O Hanuman, do you not know your own strength? You were born of the Wind God. As a child, you leapt to swallow the sun thinking it was a fruit. You have forgotten your power — but I remind you now."

Shree RAM and Lakshmana were wandering in the forest of Kishkindha, searching for Mata Sita. The vanara king Sugriva, watching from the mountain, was suspicious of these two strangers. He sent his minister to investigate — and that minister was Hanuman ji.

Hanuman ji disguised himself as a brahmin and approached Shree RAM. The moment his eyes fell on Shree RAM's face — that divine, gentle, lotus-eyed face — something happened inside Hanuman ji that he could not explain. His heart recognised what his mind had not yet understood.

After meeting Mata Sita and delivering Shree RAM's message, Hanuman ji allowed himself to be captured by Ravana's soldiers. He was brought before the demon king's court in chains. Ravana, furious, ordered that Hanuman ji's tail be set on fire as punishment.

The soldiers wrapped cloth soaked in oil around Hanuman ji's long tail and lit it. The fire blazed. But Hanuman ji felt nothing. He sat calmly, thinking only of Shree RAM. The fire that was meant to torture him became his weapon.

After the great war, after Ravana was defeated and Mata Sita was rescued, Shree RAM returned to Ayodhya and was crowned king. The kingdom prospered. Years passed in peace and joy.

One day, Shree RAM called Hanuman ji and said, "Hanuman, you have served me beyond all measure. Ask for any boon — anything in the three worlds is yours." The entire court waited to hear what Hanuman ji would ask for.
